Sample System Installation and Retrofits
Update Sample Delivery Without Overlooking the Existing System
AES supports installation and retrofit work for industrial sample systems. Projects can include new tubing routes, replacement conditioning components, revised connections, and changes to the arrangement of existing equipment.

What It Is
What Is a Sample System Retrofit?
A sample system retrofit modifies an existing installation rather than replacing every part of it.
The work may address:
Capabilities
Installation and Retrofit Capabilities
Four steps from the installed condition to a checked, modified sample system.
Existing-Condition Review
Available drawings and field observations help identify the components, connection points, and space involved in the work. Differences between drawings and installed conditions should be resolved before the final installation scope is released.
Tubing and Component Installation
Work may include specified tubing, valves, regulators, filters, and associated sample handling components. Material selection and pressure or temperature ratings follow the approved design and process requirements.
Tie-In and Outage Planning
Retrofits require defined isolation boundaries, connection details, and a sequence that fits the owner's work controls. Production interruptions, temporary arrangements, and process isolation remain subject to site approval.
Post-Installation Checks
The agreed scope can include installation verification, specified leak or pressure checks, and identification of remaining startup actions. Test methods and acceptance criteria should be established for the actual equipment and service.
The Full Sample Path
Built Around the Full Sample Path
Share current drawings, sample composition, operating conditions, known symptoms, and maintenance history. A slow response may involve transport volume or flow; unstable measurements may have several process, sample, or instrument causes. An assessment can help separate observed symptoms from assumed causes before hardware is replaced.

Why AES
Why Choose AES for Sample System Retrofits?
AES connects field work with sample conditioning and analytical integration requirements. The focus is a workable modification scope that accounts for both the equipment being changed and the parts of the system that will remain in service.

Can only part of a sample system be replaced?
Yes, if the remaining components are suitable for the intended service. The interface between retained and new equipment should be reviewed for compatibility, operating limits, and access.
Can retrofit work be completed without a shutdown?
That depends on the system configuration, isolation provisions, and site procedures. AES should review the intended work with the facility before any operating or outage assumptions are made.
Does a retrofit guarantee better analyzer readings?
No single modification can guarantee measurement performance. The underlying issue, analyzer condition, sample properties, and completed verification activities all matter. Define the problem and acceptance criteria before selecting the remedy.
Discuss Your Sample System Modification
Provide the existing arrangement and the problem you want to address. AES can help establish the field information and installation scope needed to move forward.
